To accompany the performance of Variations VII, we are showing documentation of the original work from 1966, at BALTIC. The documentary film John Cage Variations VII from the 9 Evenings: Theatre & Engineering series will be screened in Cinema and an audio recording of the original performance will be presented in the Cube. The film was produced by Billy Klüver & Julie Martin for Experiments in Art and Technology, and was directed by Barbro Schultz Lundestam. A DVD of the film, which also has the 1966 audio recording, will be available for sale.
