The Festival launches at The Mining Institute Library at 6pm with opening speeches by Festival Director, Rebecca Shatwell and MP for Newcastle Central, Chi Onwurah. Information about the Festival programme and complimentary refreshments are available. All are welcome.

The Festival Exhibition opens simultaneously at venues across Newcastle and Gateshead. All venues are open from 7–10pm and our suggested walking route for the evening is: Assembly House, The Mining Institute, Workplace Gallery, NewBridge Books at BALTIC 39, BALTIC 39 Project Space and The Gallery at Tyneside Cinema.

The Mining Institute Bar is open especially as a social space for Festival guests and visitors. All welcome, pay bar.
