Into Eternity is an award-winning documentary about long-term safety issues in nuclear energy production. The film is set at ’Onkalo’ the world’s first permanent storage site for nuclear waste, which is under construction in Finland. In order to last 100,000 years, the length of time the waste remains hazardous, the repository is hewn out of solid rock into complex underground tunnels. Once full of waste the facility is to be sealed off and never opened again. This captivating film takes us on a journey into the unimaginably distant future.
