This tour was part of a series of ‘slow’ tours designed and led by AV Festival Volunteer Guides, to further explore the AV Festival 12 theme: As Slow As Possible.

Trying it for 32 included tours of two exhibitions, Jem Finer at The NewBridge Project and Jonathan Schipper at 16 Saville Row. The tour encouraged visitors to sit and experience the works for 32 minutes each, following John Cages' advice:

"If something is boring after two minutes, try it for four. If still boring, then eight. Then sixteen. Then thirty-two. Eventually one discovers that it is not boring at all."

Following 32 minutes in each exhibition, there was an opportunity to share observations with each other in a short informal discussion. Participants could bring materials such as cameras, sketchbooks and a cushion to use in the time spent with the exhibitions.
