Fri 5 March 2010 – Sun 14 March 2010

AV Festival 10 had a late night hub throughout the Festival. From 9pm every night of the Festival, concerts, screenings and club nights took place at Star and Shadow Cinema, one of Newcastle’s best-loved venues.

The creative team behind Star and Shadow Cinema transformed the venue into The Astro-Botanical Garden – a habitat resembling the set from a 1970s ecological sci-fi film with energy pyramids, geodesic domes and artificial forests.

Music events took over the venue for five nights, promoted in partnership with No-Fi, PRMNT VIBES and Road to Rimini, including club nights and performances by Lucky Dragons, People Like Us, Felix Kubin, The Gluts, Gwilly Edmondes, Atsuhiro Ito and Kanta Horio.

Film events included a no electricity night and double bill of two classic global disaster films, plus rare screenings of James Benning’s Ten Skies and Craig Baldwin’s Mock Up On Mu introduced by the filmmaker.
