David Attenborough, The Life of Birds, 1998

This screening of an episode from the award-winning David Attenborough series was introduced by Chris Watson. Watson has worked on many of the BBC’s landmark natural history TV shows, transforming the way we hear the sounds of nature on radio and on television. The episode showed a dawn chorus that took Watson and his colleagues two years to record and edit. The stunning closing scenes of the programme, juxtapose magnificent bird song with the noises of technology, tourism, and deforestation.
