Archive work by artists using film to explore the possibilities of emerging technologies. The focus is the work of Lillian Schwartz who in the 1960s and 1970s, programmed computers to generate dynamic abstract films at Bell Laboratories, a scientific research centre in New Jersey. Other pioneers of computer based films including the Whitney Brothers also feature, with a short documentary Experiments in Motion Graphics along with early abstract experiments Catalog and Permutations.
