AV Festival 10

Rebecca Shatwell

AV Festival has matured over the past decade to become the UK's most eclectic and engaging electronic arts festival.
Little White Lies

Some experimental arts festivals settle for preaching to the converted. AV's organisers deserve full credit for making connections with science, poetry and the locality that drew sizable audiences to challenging and uncompromising music and sound events.
The Wire

AV Festival 10 was a huge success with a record number of 38,161 visitors to 68 events and 30 installations across NewcastleGateshead, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. Working with 140 artists, we presented 20 new commissions in response to the Festival theme of energy. We are now developing the next Festival for March 2012, sign up to our e-bulletin to stay in touch.

You can see our archive of images from all Festival events searchable by artform, highlight or date from this page. A selection of Festival videos can be watched on our new videos page.

Our evaluation report can be downloaded here. Produced by BOP Consulting the report "paints a picture of a maturing Festival, with visitors attracted by consistently innovative programming and high quality events". AV Festival 10 saw a 65% increase in visitors and a 135% increase in visitors from outside the region. With 93% of visitors saying they would come back in 2012, we look forward to seeing you there!
