We would like to invite you to a very special pre-AV Festival 08 talk with artist Marko Peljhan
AV Festival 08's featured artist Marko Peljhan will be making a visit to the region and will be giving a special talk about his radio related projects and his involvement in AV Festival 08.
Marko will be giving an talk and a question and answer session at Waygood @ Harkers, Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne on Thursday 22 November from 7pm.
Slovenian artist Marko works with telecommunications technology, contemporary architecture and sustainable energy. An artist of unparalleled ambition, Peljhan has worked with the Russian Space Programme, and plans to launch his own telecommunications satellite. After building the art-science laboratory, Makrolab, which has been installed in inhospitable and remote locations around the world, Peljhan is currently working on laboratories for the most challenging environments on earth - Antarctica and the Arctic circle. Peljhan featured at the world's most prestigious electronic art festival, Ars Electronica this year, and will be performing at AV Festival 08 between 28 February - 8 March 2008. His talk will focus on his use of radio within his practice.
As part of his involvement with AV Festival 08 Marko will be working Waygood's newly formed Amateur Radio Club (see their blog for more information on their activities)
