Audio Visual Arts North East requires an Administrator
Please note that this post can only be given to a candidate who has graduated (undergraduate or postgraduate degree) within the last 2 years.
Audio Visual Arts North East (AVANE) is an independent charitable company whose objective is to promote electronic art for public benefit in the North East of England. The main activity of the organisation is to deliver the biennial AV Festival, but it will also undertake other projects in line with its charitable objectives. The AV Festival is now the UK’s largest international festival of electronic arts and features visual art, music and moving image. The festival spans the four main urban centres of the North East region - Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
AV has run three successful festivals. AV Festival 08: Broadcast was the largest and most ambitious festival to date, with audiences of over 100,000. The programme included over 100 events, exhibitions, concerts, performances, conferences and workshops at many of the region’s flagship venues. It is strongly positioned as one of the key festivals of electronic arts in Europe, and has a growing national and international following.
The next AV Festival will be in March 2010. AV Festival 2010 will enhance the region’s developing reputation as a centre for innovative electronic art, by delivering a high-quality programme of exhibitions, concerts, conferences, workshops and events.
In order to deliver on these ambitious plans the organisation must grow, and AVANE would like to offer a unique opportunity for an exceptional recent graduate to work with us as an Administrator.
