On Tuesday night AV Festival 08 picked up the prestigious Arts Council Award at the Journal Culture Awards. We were shortlisted with the Great North Run Cultural Programme and Durham Enlightenment. The award is described as being for:
"An artist or organization based or working in the North East who has produced a truly excellent piece of work in the last year. A piece of work that continues to inspire, influencing other artists and audiences and spurring them on to unleash the creativity in themselves; a piece of work that equals and surpasses work taking place nationally and internationally."
The award came as a welcome end to a busy day yesterday, in which AV took part in Arts Council England, North East's 'great art for everyone' day at Sage Gateshead, speaking on the panel about digital technology in the arts sector.
