Two AV Festival commissions, produced and toured by Forma, are presented at Perth International Arts Festival in Australia.

One of the world's leading wildlife and location sound recordists, Chris Watson presents his extraordinary sound installation, Whispering in the Leaves, at the Perth International Arts Festival, inviting visitors to experience the soundtrack of the South American rainforest diffused through the tropical foliage of this botanical environment of the Planetarium Pyramid. Whispering in the Leaves by Chris Watson was one of the highlights of AV Festival 2008, originally presented in Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens.

Gina Czarnecki's Spine is a meeting ground for reflection on the body, humanity, technology and science. Projected onto a vast vertical building façade and accompanied by sound, the sheer scale and beauty of Spine captures and intrigues the imagination. The imagery evolves from complex masses of cell-like structures, to graceful friezes of bodies whose movement is distorted in time, creating tableaux breathtaking in beauty and rich in texture. Eventually, the intertwined bodies resemble a new life form, observed like a biological sample in flux, multiplying, mutating. Spine was one of the highlights of AV Festival 2006 when it was projected onto the Civic Centre in Newcastle.
